Game Overview
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was initially released on November 11th, 2011, by Bethesda Game Studios. It is a single player role playing game that follows a mythical man (or woman), elf, “cat”, or “lizard” known as the Dragonborn. The Dragonborn is said to be the only person who is able to kill a dragon for good by absorbing its soul. Skyrim is the 5th installation in a game series known as the Elder Scrolls. The game starts as the main character is caught trying to cross the border into the province of Skyrim and is carted off to a city to be executed. Just before the Dragonborn is executed, however, a dragon named Alduin comes to the city and destroys it, stopping the execution.
Alduin, the dragon that stopped the execution, is also known as the World Eater. He is a legendary dragon from myth that is said to be destined to destroy the world. Being the main antagonist in the game, Alduin is the final boss in the main storyline. Naturally, as the game goes on, the Dragonborn becomes stronger and eventually faces Alduin. It sounds simple enough, but many quests must be completed before you are able to find Alduin again and put a stop to his reign of terror. While the main story revolves around this, there are many different quests and storylines you can go through, including, but not limited to, joining different factions, fighting in a civil war, and becoming a vampire.
